I'm Getting Old

Yes, it's about that time...my 10 year high school reunion is right around the corner. I've been heavily debating whether or not I should go. Although I do recall that Romy and Michelle had a great time at theirs...in the end. Although, wasn't there a lot of drama just to get to the happy helicopter ending?

Steve is working that weekend so if I do go I'll be flying - somewhat - solo. I'm trying to convince best friend D to be the Romy to my Michele at the reunion. I have zero desire to show up alone. I know, it'll be just like I'm still in high school: can't go anywhere alone, must know what others are going to wear before I decide on my outfit. Don't judge me for being way super cool.

Have you gone to any of your high school reunions? Loved it? Hated it? Ran away screaming? Do tell!

i went! but i went with dj, who was my high school sweetheart, so that made it alot easier. I definitely would have not wanted to go alone. BUT i will say, we ended up having more fun that I thought we would.

My ten year is coming up next year, and there is no way I am going. However, that is because I have no desire to see any of those people again. Not that I am oh-so-proud of my illustrious career as an administrative coordinator either. Hubby's 10 year is this year, and I'm hoping he doesn't want to go. I'm none too excited about my body right now, and no way I want to get into a dress and try to impress his old friends. :( I'm anxious to see what you decide, and how it goes if you do go.

My 10 year came and went - I didn't go but instead stalked it on facebook. Real mature, i know!

Totally a miss-able event. Was dragged to mine by a girlfriend. People don't change too much after 10 years. My Hubby (who was my BF at the time) had a blast- he kept telling random people that we met through a prison pen pal program- and some people believed him. I about died.

@Sugar...hahahaa your comment had me dying...prison pen pal program :)

I'm completely on the fence about going...but I figure if I do go, it's a great excuse to buy a new dress!!

Laura, did invites go out for this? If they have, I was left off the distribution list (no sad face here). I did find out from a classmate when it is and I will be in Chicago for work. Debating too if I will make the drive down for it. I do just like the idea of FB stalking.
PS - I love reading this blog. Glad you are posting more frequently.

Valerie, yay! I didn't know you were a reader :)

There are invites going out soon I think because Jessica and Erica were asking for addresses on Facebook. I'm sure you can reach out to either one of them for more specifics and to make sure they had your info. I'm definitely going to be in Washington that weekend because I'm long overdue for a visit, but it's still far up in the air as to whether I'll actually go to anything, lol. And I still have to convince Darcie to be my date! We might check out that newer restaurant, June, for dinner that Saturday night, too.

I read about June in Bon Appetit, or was it the defunked Gourmet, a few months back. I think their niche was local produce. If you make it, it should be a very enjoyable dinner.
My dad is still in the same location so I would guess the invite would go to him. If not, maybe I can just crash.
Hope you and Darcie decide to go. I have kept in touch with maybe 3 others since high school let out.
